Cougars Drop 69-55 Decision to WAC-Leading New Mexico State

CHICAGO – Chicago State men's basketball made its return to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon by dropping a 69-55 decision to Western Athletic Conference-leading New Mexico State in a conference battle.
 
The Cougars (4-23, 0-10) had three players score in double figures with junior Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) scoring a team-high 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and hit all three of his free throw attempts. Palmer also tallied a game-high three steals for the Green and White.
 
Freshman Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) added 11 points and redshirt sophomore Clemmye Owens V (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) finished with 10 points.
 
Like CSU, three players also scored in double figures for NM State (18-8, 9-1). Pascal Siakam tallied game highs of 24 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots.
 
CSU hits the road for the final time in the regular season beginning Thursday night with a WAC contest at Utah Valley beginning at 7 p.m., Mountain Time.
