Volleyball Falls at CSU Bakersfield in Three Sets

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Chicago State volleyball kicked off its final two-match road swing of the season here tonight at after falling to host CSU Bakersfield, 3-0 (21-25, 17-25, 15-25), at the Icardo Center.

The Cougars (3-23, 1-10) were led by junior Kelsey Taylor (Miami, Fla./Westminster Christian School) as she dished out 14 assists to go along with five digs and two service aces, while fellow classmate Corey Davis (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks) contributed 12 assists on the night.

Freshman Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden) posted a team-high nine digs, while junior Juma Armando (Toronto, Canada/Archbishop Romero) tallied eight kills and redshirt sophomore Brianna Stewart (Elgin, Ill./Larkin) added seven kills.

Carol Grasso posted a match-best 16 kills to lead CSUB (11-13, 8-3), while Fabiana Andrade recorded 49 assists and Jocelyn Rodriguez notched a match-high 18 digs.

The Green and White will now travel to Phoenix this Saturday afternoon to take on Grand Canyon in their regular season road finale beginning at 2 p.m.
