Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision at UMKC

KANSAS CITY – Chicago State volleyball returned to Western Athletic Conference play here tonight as it dropped a 3-0 (22-25, 18-25, 20-25) decision to host UMKC at the Swinney Recreation Center.
 
The Cougars (3-20, 1-7) were led by junior Juma Armando (Toronto, Canada/Archbishop Romero) and freshman Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden) as each recorded match highs with 19 kills and 18 digs, respectively.
 
Junior Corey Davis (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks) tallied her third double-double of the season for CSU with 20 assists and 11 digs, while fellow classmate Kelsey Taylor (Miami, Fla./Westminster Christian School) dished out 18 assists. Freshman Sofia Gruden (Washburn, Ill./Metamora) and redshirt sophomore Brianna Stewart (Elgin, Ill./Larkin) each contributed seven kills.
 
The Kangaroos (11-10, 4-4) were paced by Kaylyn Brandt (38 assists), Adasia Bromberger (13 digs) and Madison Mosier (11 kills).
 
CSU heads back to the Jacoby Dickens Center next week for a two-match WAC homestand beginning on Thursday, Oct. 27 against Seattle U with the first serve set for 7 p.m.
