Men’s Basketball Opens Homestand Tonight against Green Bay

Junior Trayvon Palmer recorded his fifth double-double of the season Tuesday night against Green Bay with 19 points and a game-high 15 rebounds

CHICAGO – Chicago State men's basketball opened up a three-game homestand Tuesday night at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center with a 99-66 defeat to visiting Green Bay.
 
CSU (4-17) was led by junior Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) as he tallied his fifth double-double of the season with 19 points and a game-leading 15 rebounds. Palmer also finished with three assists, a blocked shot and a steal in addition to draining all six of his free throw attempts.
 
Freshman Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) tied with Palmer for team high scoring honors as he also finished with 19 points, which included a 16-point spurt in the second half.
 
Carrington Love tallied game high totals of 20 points and five steals to lead Green Bay (12-7), who had four players score in double figures.
 
The Cougars continue their homestand Thursday night as they host Western Athletic Conference co-leader Grand Canyon in a conference contest with the opening tip set for 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on both the WAC Digital Network and WVON 1690 AM radio.
