OPENING TIP – The Chicago State men's basketball team returns to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center for a three-game homestand this week beginning Tuesday night against Green Bay in its non-conference finale. The game will begin at 7:05 p.m. in a live broadcast on the WAC Digital Network.

SCOUTING CSU – Chicago State heads into Tuesday's non-conference finale sporting a 4-16 season record with a 0-4 mark in Western Athletic Conference play. The Green and White fell on the road last Saturday night at defending WAC champion New Mexico State by an 80-62 margin despite having four players score in double figures. CSU is led offensively by redshirt sophomore guard Clemmye Owens V (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) as he is averaging 11.2 points per game while shooting 90 percent from the free throw line. Senior guard Kieran Woods (Chicago, Ill./Crane) ranks second on the team in scoring with 10 points a game while leading the Cougars in assists (2.8 apg) and steals (1.9) per game. Junior guard/forward Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) is the team's top rebounder this season with 8.2 boards a game to go along with a team-leading 18 blocked shots (1.0 bpg).

SCOUTING GB – Winners of five of its last seven games since Dec. 28, Green Bay has posted an 11-7 record on the year which includes a 4-2 ledger in Horizon League play. However, the Phoenix fell to defending HL champion Valparaiso on the road last Saturday to drop their second game in their last three conference contests. UWGB has three players producing double digit scoring averages with senior guard Carrington Love leading the way at 17.9 points a game in addition to posting a team-best 2.6 steals per contest. Senior forward Jordan Fouse is averaging team highs of 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 blocked shots a game to go along with scoring 11.6 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY – Green Bay has produced a 20-6 all-time advantage over Chicago State while tallying a 7-3 record in games played in Chicago. The Phoenix, who has captured 15 consecutive wins in the series since 1987, held on for a 54-50 win in Green Bay on New Year's Eve 2014 in which Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) recorded a double-double of 11 rebounds and 10 points for CSU.

LEAGUE LEADERS – Senior Kieran Woods (Chicago, Ill./Crane) currently ranks for first in the Western Athletic Conference in steals per game (1.9 spg).

LEAGUE LEADERS #2 – Chicago State leads the WAC in steals (169 – 8.5) per game. CSU also leads the league in offensive rebounds (16.3), steals (8.8) and turnover margin (+3.5) in conference games.

NEW ADDITION – The Cougars added a walk-on to the team last week in sophomore forward Charles Dent (Chicago, Ill./Chicago Military Academy - Bronzeville). Dent, a 6-foot-6 forward, played high school ball in the Chicago Public League at Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville.

UP NEXT - CSU continues its homestand on Thursday night against WAC-leading Grand Canyon with a start time of 7:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network and WVON 1690 AM.
