OPENING TIP – The Chicago State men's basketball kicks off a three-game road swing Monday night in Milwaukee as it takes on BIG EAST Conference member Marquette at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in a Fox Sports 1 broadcast with the opening tip set for 6 p.m. Calling the action in the game are Vince Welch (Play-by-Play) and Stephen Bardo (Analyst).

SCOUTING CSU – Chicago State opens its latest road swing sporting a season record of 4-9 after breaking an eight-game losing streak on Saturday with a 77-70 home win over Western Illinois behind four players scoring in double figures. Redshirt sophomore guard Clemmye Owens V (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) leads the Green and White with an average of 15 points a game, while junior guard Elliott Cole (Chicago, Ill./Powerhouse) currently averages 11.5 points and a team-best 2.5 assists per contest. Senior guard Kieran Woods (Chicago, Ill./Crane) is third on the team at 10 points a game in addition to posting a team-leading 1.9 steals per contest. Junior guard/forward Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) is producing team highs of 8.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots per game for CSU.

SCOUTING MU – Idle since capturing a 57-55 road win at Wisconsin on Dec. 12, Marquette starts a three-game homestand with an 8-2 record on the year and is currently on a seven-game winning streak since Nov. 23. The Golden Eagles, who have three players scoring in double figures, are led by freshman forward Henry Ellison's 16.5 points and nine rebounds a game. Junior forward Luke Fischer ranks second on the team in scoring at 14.3 points per contest in addition to recording team highs in blocked shots (2.2 bpg) and field goal percentage (.663). Redshirt sophomore guard Duane Wilson is averaging 12.2 points and a team-leading 1.5 steals per game for MU.

SERIES HISTORY – Marquette currently holds a 6-0 all-time advantage over Chicago State and Monday's game will be the seventh lifetime meeting between the two schools. The Golden Eagles captured a 106-87 victory over the Cougars in the teams' last battle in Milwaukee on Nov. 17, 2008 in a game that was part of the Chicago Invitational Challenge.

BALANCE AND OPTIONS – CSU had four players score in double figures in last Saturday's win over Western Illinois in Clemmye Owens V (Toledo, Ohio/Rogers) (18 points), Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) (12 points), Elliott Cole (Chicago, Ill./Powerhouse) (11 points) and Jawad Adekoya (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) (10 points). It marked the fourth time this season that the Green and White have accomplished this feat. The Cougars had seven players post double digit scoring in their season opener against Illinois Tech on Nov. 13.

CONFERENCE LEADERS – Chicago State currently ranks first in the WAC in total rebounds (496), total steals (110), made three-point field goals (98), three-point field goal attempts (301), made free throws (172) and free throw attempts (248).

UP NEXT - The Cougars continue their road swing on Dec. 28 in Rochester, Mich., against Oakland with a start time of 7 p.m., Eastern Time.
