CSU Opens Three-Match WAC Road Swing with 3-0 Loss at UMKC

Sophomore Corey Davis tallied her fifth double-double of the season for CSU in this evening's contest at UMKC.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chicago State volleyball began a three-match road swing here this evening as it suffered a 3-0 (12-25, 16-25, 21-25) loss to host Missouri-Kansas City in a Western Athletic Conference contest at the Swinney Recreation Center.

Leading the Green and White in the match was sophomore Corey Davis (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks), who recorded her fifth double-double of the season as she posted a pair of match highs with 23 assists and a season-high 14 digs.

Junior Logan Miller (Palm Harbor, FL/Palm Harbor University High) and sophomore Arieta Vaimaona (Lauli'i, American Samoa/Faga'itua) each contributed nine kills, while junior Elli Woinowsky (Berlin, Germany/Merian Oberschule) finished with eight kills. Sophomore Shontanae Addison (Little Elm, Texas/Wakeland) added 10 digs for CSU (1-25, 0-12).

UMKC (13-11, 6-6) received a match-leading 14 kills from Madison Mosier and five blocks (two solo, three assisted) from Sydney Crimmins. Taryn Miller matched Davis for match high dig honors with 14 and Jessica Hendin added 10 kills.

The Cougars continue their road swing in Phoenix on Thursday, Nov. 12 with a WAC battle at Grand Canyon with the first serve set for 6 p.m., Mountain Time.
