Cougars Fall at Home to Utah Valley, 7-1

CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's soccer team ended a weekend Western Athletic Conference homestand here today after falling to Utah Valley by a score of 7-1 at Ray and Joan Kroc Stadium.
 
The visiting Wolverines took a 4-0 halftime lead after scoring goals between the seventh and 18th minutes of the first half. UVU (7-4-1, 2-0-1) added three more tallies in the 47th, 51st and 68th minutes in the second half.
 
The Cougars (0-12, 0-3) got on the board in the 80th minute when sophomore Lexi Montgomery (St. Charles, Mo. /Francis Howell) lined a penalty kick attempt past Utah Valley goalie Sarah Davis for her first goal of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Conroy (Avondale, Ariz./Millard West (Neb.)) produced a game-high six saves for CSU.
 
The Green and White kick off a four-game WAC road swing beginning Friday evening in Phoenix against Grand Canyon with the opening kickoff set for 7 p.m., MT.
