Volleyball Ends Southwest WAC Trip with 3-0 Loss at UTRGV

EDINBURG, Texas – The Chicago State volleyball team ended a weekend Western Athletic Conference road swing through the Southwest here this afternoon as it fell to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, 3-0 (24-26, 22-25, 20-25), at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

Leading CSU on the day was junior Elli Woinowsky (Berlin, Germany/Merian Oberschule) as she recorded 15 kills, added two service aces and posted a .303 (15-5-33) hitting percentage.

Redshirt freshman Brianna Stewart (Elgin, Illinois/Larkin) tallied a .308 (6-2-13) hitting percentage with two block assists, while sophomore Corey Davis (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks) nearly posted a double-double as she dished out 28 assists and added nine digs. Sophomore Shontanae Addison (Little Elm, Texas/Wakeland) registered a pair of season highs with four service aces and four assists.

The Vaqueros were paced by Bojana Mitrovic's double-double as she tallied match highs of 23 kills and 14 digs, and Dubravka Vukoja recorded a match-leading 43 assists.

CSU returns to the Jacoby Dickens Center on Oct. 9 with a WAC contest against Missouri-Kansas City with a start time of 7 p.m.
