Cougars Open Season-Ending Homestand Versus NM State

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's soccer opened its three-game season-ending homestand here Friday afternoon by falling to visiting New Mexico State, 3-0, in a Western Athletic Conference contest at Ray and Joan Kroc Stadium.
 
The Aggies (5-12, 4-4) scored goals in the ninth, 22nd and 37th minutes to go into halftime with a 3-0 advantage, but the Cougars (0-17, 0-8) had several chances to score in the second half.
 
Sophomore Taylor Conroy (Avondale, Ariz./Millard West (Neb.)) posted a season-high 12 saves for CSU, while redshirt freshman Jordyn Stanberry (Grand Haven, Mich./Fruitport) and Alejandra Alonso (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) each tallied three shots on goal.
 
The Cougars continue their homestand on Sunday afternoon when they host the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in a WAC game with a start time of 1 p.m.
