Women’s Soccer Suffers 9-1 Defeat at Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Chicago State women's soccer continued its four-game road swing here today as it was defeated by host Bakersfield in a Western Athletic Conference match-up at Main Soccer Field by a score of 9-1.
 
CSUB (5-7-2, 3-1-1) gained a 6-0 advantage in the first half as it scored goals between the 14th and 34th minutes before adding three more tallies in the second half.
 
Sophomore Jyllian Coggins (Birch Run, Mich./Birch Run) scored her second goal of the season for the Cougars (0-14, 0-5) in the 55th minute after receiving a pass from fellow classmate Vialy Garcia-Hernandez (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell), while sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Conroy (Avondale, Ariz./Millard West (Neb.)) posted a game-leading four saves.
 
CSU continues its road swing on Friday, Oct. 16 at New Mexico State with a start time of 2 p.m., Mountain Time.
