ROMEOVILLE, Ill. –
Sharifah Robertson (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) took second in the 100 meters (11.94) and 200 meters (26.40) for Chicago State women's track and field at the Chicagoland Championships hosted by Lewis University. The Cougars finished 12th with 25 points. Robertson's 11.91 time in the preliminaries of the 100 stands as a new school record.
“It was great to see our team compete well across the board,” Chicago State head coach
Craig Collins said. “Despite our youth and inexperience or lack of numbers, we competed well and Chicagolands is a great meet to start seeing progress unfold.”
Cierra Goodman, Robertson, Pearl Chivatta and
Alisha Wren (Chicago, Ill./Percy L. Julian) took fourth in the 4x100 relay, posting a time of 49.12. Freshman
Joshlynn Scott (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood) took eighth in the 400 meters (1:00.05).
The Cougars return to the track on Saturday (April 13) at Western Illinois' Lee Calhoun Invite.
