SERIES HISTORY -
Chicago State owns a 34-28 advantage in the all-time series with UIC.

Chicago State already has earned the program's first ever conference tournament championship and first ever postseason tournament berth. They would add first ever postseason tournament victory to that list with a win over UIC.
THE FIRST SINCE -
Chicago State's GWC title is the first men's basketball championship for one of Chicago's Division I teams since UIC won the Horizon League Tournament in 2004.
KEEPING IT -

GWC TOURNAMENT HONORS -
Nate Duhon (Lansing, Mich./Sexton) and
Jeremy Robinson (Decatur, Ill./Eisenhower) were named to the 2013 GWC All-Tournament Team. Duhon picked up Tournament MVP honors.

Chicago State has found considerably more success getting to the free throw line in the last three games. CSU's 17 free throws at Houston Baptist (March 9), 19 vs. UTPA (March 15) and 21 vs. Houston Baptist (March 16) stands as the best three-game stretch of the season in terms of made foul shots.
TAKING IT AWAY -
The Cougars rank 7th in the nation in steals per game by averaging 9.5 swipes a contest. VCU leads the country with 11.8 steals per game. The Cougars haven't finished a season ranking in the top 10 in the nation in a category since the 2008-09 squad ranked third in both scoring (84.2) and steals per game (10.0).

Chicago State head coach
Tracy Dildy had a decorated playing career at UIC. He still sits 10th all-time in assists at UIC with 260 from 1988-90. He also spent six seasons as an assistant coach or associate head coach at UIC.

The Cougars finished the season as the only Great West Conference team with five players averaging 8.0 points per game or more. A sixth,

Chicago State led the Great West Conference in free throw percentage by making 347-of-474 (.732). The total ranks 50th in the nation.

Chicago State led the Great West Conference in 3-pointers per game with 6.9 per game The 15 treys Chicago State made against Houston Baptist on Jan. 19 were the most by a GWC team this year.

Jamere Dismukes (Park Forest, Ill./Rich East) finished GWC play with a conference best 5.3 assists per game.

Mashawn Chamberlain (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle)'s cousin is New Orleans Hornets forward Anthony Davis. The No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft Davis was in the stands to see Chamberlain when CS played at Tulane on Nov. 18.

DESTINATION: WAC 2013-14 -
Chicago State has accepted an invitation to join the Western Athletic Conference. The Cougars will join the WAC for the 2013-14 season. Thanks to UMKC joining the WAC on Thursday (Feb. 7), the membership for the WAC in 2013-14 includes: CSU Bakersfield; Chicago State; Grand Canyon; Idaho; UMKC; New Mexico State; Seattle, Texas-Pan American and Utah Valley.

MAJOR AWARDS AT JUNIOR COLLEGE -
Junior
Jamere Dismukes (Park Forest, Ill./Rich East) earned First Team All-NJCAA Region IV Division II honors at BlackHawk College.
Nate Duhon (Lansing, Mich./Sexton) picked up Second Team NJCAA Division II All-American and Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Player of the Year honors at Lansing CC.
