New Mexico State Sweeps Chicago State Volleyball

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Aggies of New Mexico State clinched a share of the 2013 Western Athletic Conference Championship following a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-13) victory over Chicago State volleyball on Saturday (Nov. 9).
 
The Cougars couldn't match the Aggies' offense which hit .427.
 
Chicago State trailed the first set 15-13 before New Mexico State went on a four-point run. In the second, Chicago State was behind 12-10 when a three-point push put the Aggies up for good. New Mexico State cruised in the third set.  
 
Senior Paula Sioto (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Instituto Educacional Raphael Di Santo) recorded a match-high 10 kills for the Cougars. She has 21 double-digit kill matches on the season.

Senior Rachel Levitt (Willow Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) and junior Valeria Desiderio (Chicago Heights, Ill./Bloom) each finished with six kills for the Cougars.

Bradley Nash led the Aggies with nine kills.
 
New Mexico State improves to 18-10 (13-2 WAC) with the win. The Cougars are now 2-27 (0-14 WAC). Chicago State closes the 2013 season with a pair of home matches. First up is a visit from Idaho on Thursday (Nov. 14) in a 7 p.m. CT first serve at the Jacoby Dickens Center.
