KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chicago State volleyball dropped a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-13) decision at Kansas City on Friday (Oct. 25) evening in a Western Athletic Conference match.

Valeria Desiderio (Chicago Heights, Ill./Bloom) tied for a match-high with nine kills. Junior
Julia Menhart (Augsburg, Germany/FOS Friedberg) added 13 digs. Senior
Paula Sioto (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Instituto Educacional Raphael Di Santo) recorded 10 digs, eight kills and an ace.

The Cougars trailed 13-12 in the first set following a kill by Desiderio. Kansas City responded with six consecutive points to take over the set. It was a similar story in the second. Freshman
Mackenzie Lotter (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) and senior
Rachel Levitt (Willow Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) delivered kills to knot the score at 13. Three Kansas City points later and the Cougars were forced to ask for time. The 'Roos took over from there to win the second set. In the third and final frame, the difference was a 7-0 run by the 'Roos.

The Cougars fall to 2-21 (0-9 WAC). Kansas City improves to 11-10 (5-4 WAC). The Cougars step out of WAC play on Monday with a visit by Horizon League member Valparaiso to the Jacoby Dickens Center.
