Bryant recap
Freshman
Alyssa Podwell (Homer Glenn, Ill./Providence Catholic) (Homer Glenn, Ill./Providence Catholic) earned her first double-digit kill contest of her young career by hitting .300 with 11 kills and three block assists against the Bulldogs.
The second set was a heartbreaker for the Cougars. CSU rallied from a 17-13 deficit to take a 22-18 advantage. Podwell had three kills in the 9-1 rally. However CSU would score just one more point down the stretch as the Bulldogs finished the frame on a 7-1 run.
The third set was back and forth with six ties and four lead changes. Back-to-back Bryant points to make it 22-19 seemed to give the Bulldogs the distance they needed to pull away from the Cougars.
Chicago State is now 1-6. The Cougars will play host Coppin State and Youngstown State on Saturday in the final day of the Coppin State Invitational.
