Cougars Drop 3-0 Non-Conference Decision at DePaul

Junior Rachel Levitt tallied a match-best 10 kills Tuesday night at DePaul

CHICAGO – Chicago State volleyball kicked off a three-match non-conference slate here tonight with a 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 12-25) loss to host DePaul at McGrath-Phillips Arena. The Blue Demons improved their season record to 5-18, while the Cougars fell to 1-23 on the year.

 

Junior Rachel Levitt (Willow Springs, Ill./Lyons Township) (Willow Springs, Ill.) produced a match-leading 10 kills to lead CSU in the match. Senior Mazvita Maziveyi (Harare, Zimbabwe/Hillside (NC)) (Harare, Zimbabwe) contributed eight kills, while junior Sydney Van Munster (Hudsonville, Mich./Portland) (Hudsonville, Mich.) and senior Alexandra Mason (Beaverton, OR/Harper College) (Beaverton, Ore.) each added six kills.

 

Freshman Emily Kramolisch (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook) (Bolingbrook, Ill.) dished out a match-high 26 assists and sophomore Mysta Townsell (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) (Gardnerville, Nev.) recorded nine digs for the Green and White.

 

DePaul was led by a trio of players who recorded seven kills in Amy Lanski, Genesis Reyes and Natalie Rizzo. Katie Gamsky posted 21 assists and Ally Rooks tallied a match-best 11 digs.

 

CSU is back in action this Saturday afternoon with a non-conference home contest at the Jacoby Dickens Center against Youngstown State beginning at 2 p.m.
