CHICAGO – Chicago State women's golf produced its first dual-match victory of the season Friday afternoon as it captured a close 334-340 win over inter-city rival Loyola at the Chi Town Showdown #2, held at the Wilmette Golf Course in Wilmette, Ill.
The dual was a rematch of the first Chi Town Showdown between the two squads on Sept. 22 in Lincolnwood, Ill., which the Ramblers posted a 323-343 win.
The Cougars were led by junior Meghan Olsen (Fresno, CA/Fresno City College) (Fresno, Calif.), who shot an 80 to earn a second-place finish in the match.
Senior Fiona Wan (Richmond, BC/Richmond HS) (Richmond, B.C.) and junior Tessa Harp (Valencia, CA/College of the Canyons) (Valencia, Calif.) finished in a tie for third place as each golfer carded an 84. Junior Esther Lee (Irvine, CA/Santiago Canyon College) (Irvine, Calif.) tied for sixth with a score of 88 and freshman Brittany Johnson (Golden, Colo./Golden) (Golden, Colo.) placed ninth with a 90.
