Chicago State Athletics Announces Television Partnership With Lakeshore PTV

Men's and women's basketball to air on Lakeshore

CHICAGO – Chicago State University Athletic Director Dan Schumacher announced on Tuesday (Nov. 6) that Chicago State and Lakeshore Public Television have entered into agreement to broadcast as many as six basketball games during the 2012-13 school year.

The package features men's basketball contests with DePaul (Dec. 5), Loyola-Chicago (Jan. 20) and Eastern Illinois (Feb. 26). The Chicago State women's basketball team will be in front of the Lakeshore PTV cameras on Jan. 29 against Western Illinois. All four games will start at 7:05 p.m. CT.

The final two broadcasts are dependent on the 2012 Great West Conference Tournament, which Chicago State is hosting March 14-16. If either the Chicago State men or women advance to the championship game on March 16, Lakeshore PTV will pick up the broadcasts.

“For the first time ever home Chicago State basketball games will be broadcast on television,” Schumacher said. “This is another step in the transformation of the Chicago State athletic department.”

Lakeshore PTV reaches 3.5 million viewers throughout Northwest Indiana, Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. Lakeshore PTV can be found on digital 17.1, Comcast 17 or 21, DirecTV 56, Dish Network 56 and RCN Chicago 4.
