Matthew Arriaga was named Athletics Business Coordinator in February 2025. In his role, Arriaga handles purchase orders & invoices for the athletics department, oversees all game contracts, acts as the game official liaison, assists with the management of athletics university fleet vehicles and helps manage all Chicago State Athletics home events.  

Arriaga joined Chicago State in February 2022 where he previously served as the Director of Internal Athletic Operations for the athletics department. In this role, Arriaga oversaw all operations related to equipment, facilities and events. Most recently, he helped host the 2024 NEC Volleyball Conference Tournament, hosted by the #1 seed Chicago State Volleyball.
 
Prior to joining Chicago State, Arriaga spend the 2021-22 season with the Chicago Bears as an intern in the equipment department. There he assisted in all on-field and off-field operations. 

Prior to his stint with the Bears, he served as the Assistant Football Equipment Manager for Texas State University for the 2020 season. Before becoming the Assistant Equipment Manager, Arriaga served as a student equipment manager for three years leading up to his graduation.  

Arriaga graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in both History and Political Science from Texas State University in spring of 2020. 

He currently resides in Uptown with his fiancée Sabrina and their dog DJ.
