Le'Marcus Gibson enters his first season at Chicago State as Defensive Coordinator, bringing more than 10 years of collegiate coaching experience. Gibson most recently served as Defensive Pass Game Coordinator and Safeties Coach at Hampton University, where he helped build the top ranked pass defense in the Coastal Athletic Association and the 11th-ranked passing defense in the FCS in 2024. His coaching résumé also includes stops at West Texas A&M, Holmes Community College, Oklahoma Panhandle State, Nicholls State and Grambling State. A native of Starkville, Mississippi, Gibson played collegiately at Hawai?i, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and the University of Louisiana, where he earned his bachelor's degree. As Defensive Coordinator, he leads the development and implementation of Chicago State's defensive philosophy while mentoring the Cougars' defensive unit.
