Shane Levenson was named assistant men’s and women’s golf coach at Chicago State University on March 18, 2024. In his role with the Cougars, he assists in all aspects of both programs.
Levenson comes to CSU with a diverse background spanning over two decades in athletic training, coaching, and fitness instruction, most recently as assistant men’s and women’s golf coach at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, N.C. under current Chicago State Director of Golf Jean Macon. In addition to assisting with golf instruction, Levenson coordinated budgeting, travel, strength and conditioning, fundraising and scheduling for the Wildcats.
He began his career in golf as an instructor/swing coach and junior golf fitness coach where he collaborated with physical therapists and golf professionals to develop tailored exercise programs. Levenson also honed his coaching skills as a volunteer swing coach at Long Beach High School, helping guide both boys' and girls' teams to numerous state accolades, including individual and team championships.
In addition to coaching, Levenson served as a Certified Athletic Trainer for prestigious organizations such as Naval Special Warfare and John Newcombe & The Legends Tennis Fantasies, providing injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance training to elite athletes. His expertise extends to collegiate settings, where he led strength and conditioning programs for NCAA Division I and II teams, fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the field. As the Owner/Operator of House of Pain, Inc., Levenson empowered clients through personalized fitness and nutrition guidance, embodying a holistic approach to wellness.
Levenson earned a Bachelor of Science in sports medicine and athletic training from Wingate University and his Masters of Medical Science, sports medicine/sports management track at Nova Southeastern University.
