The 2013-14 academic year will be Robert Starks' third at Chicago State University, where he holds the title of Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations. He is responsible for overseeing all athletics facilities, game day operations, conference championship events and for developing and administering a comprehensive campus recreation program. 
 
Starks came to Chicago State University from the Chicago Park District, where he worked from 2009-2011 as a Park Supervisor.   Prior to that, he held the post of Regional Operations Manager at After School Matters from 2006-2009.
 
In July of 2012, he attended the 2012 NCAA Leadership Institute. Also in 2012 he was named a Marshall Memorial Fellow.

Starks holds a Masters in Business Administration from DePaul University in 2010.
 
Starks began his college career at the University of Tennessee where he played football.  He earned Southeastern Conference academic honors and was a member of the 1998 National Championship team.
 
A 2000 graduate of Western Illinois University, he was a member of the Leathernecks' football team where he earned both Gateway Conference academic and athletic honors.
