2016: Played in 48 games and started 42 times (31 at first base, nine at third base, one at designated hitter, one at third base)… finished the season with 27 hits, 16 runs scored, nine RBIs and six doubles… produced a team-leading 274 defensive putouts, which ranked him ninth in the WAC… hit 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs against North Dakota (5/6)… twice scored two runs against Northwestern (4/19) and UND (5/8)… also hit 2-for-4 and posted a stolen base at Saint Louis (3/4)… recorded 13 putouts versus Northern Colorado (4/24)… earned Academic All-WAC and CSU Scholar-Athlete honors.

2014-15 (Lake Land): Two-year starter at third base at Lake Land College in downstate Mattoon, Ill.… recorded 78 hits, scored 60 runs and posted a .418 on-base percentage over 84 games for the Lakers.

Prep: Three-year letterwinner at Plainfield South, where he was tutored by former CSU player Tony Folino… batted .400 as a senior… helped team capture the Joliet Central Regional title at the 2013 IHSA Class 4A state tournament.

Personal: Son of Roberto and Malinda Salazar… majoring in business management.
