2015: Produced a personal-best four-mile time of 28:42 at the Bradley Pink Classic Invitational (10/16)… finished 52nd at the WAC Championships (10/31)… ran a 8K PR time of 29:41.6 at the Greater Louisville Classic (10/3)… recorded a time of 23:30 in the 6K race at the UIC Home Opener (95)… earned CSU Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-WAC honors.

Prep: Three-year letterwinner in cross country at Highland… ran for a time of 17:56.4 at the IHSAA New Prairie semi-state championship meet… helped team finish fourth at the IHSAA Crown Point regional after finishing 27th with a time of 18:15… also lettered twice in track & field at HHS and advanced to the IHSAA regional championships twice as a member of the school’s 4x800-meter relay team.

Personal: Son of Rene Chavez and Diana Carstensen… majoring in pre-physical therapy.
