ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — Chicago State Women's Golf closed out its week at the 2026 NEC Women's Golf Championships with a strong team showing, finishing tied for fourth at Turf Valley Resort with a +119 total across the three championship rounds.
The Cougars were led by Maria Quintero, who delivered the team's top finish, tying for 7th place at +19 after rounds of +10 and +4 . Her final-round 76 (+4) was one of the best closing scores in the field and helped Chicago State climb the leaderboard on the final day.
Almudena Aguera added a top-20 performance, finishing T16 at +28 with rounds of +10 and +5 . Her second-round 77 (+5) marked one of the biggest scoring improvements of the championship.
Aarushi Bhanot also contributed a strong showing, placing 30th at +33 after rounds of +15 and +11 , while Begona Perez finished 40th at +41 with consistent rounds of +13 and +11 .
Rounding out the Cougar lineup, Hannah Butzer placed 47th at +50 after posting +16 and +19 in her two rounds .
With three players inside the top 30 and two inside the top 20, Chicago State's balanced effort secured the program a share of fourth place in a competitive NEC Championship field.
