SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Chicago State University women's basketball team made a short drive to South Bend, Indiana to battle the 15th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a non-conference early season match up. The Cougars scored a near season high in points against by far their toughest opponent.
The Fighting Irish got out early but the Cougars showed more promise and will use the game as improvement.
Aiyanna Culver scored the first five points for the Cougars. Culver led the Cougars with 16 points on the afternoon followed by
Natalia Williams off the bench with nine points in 16 minutes of play. Freshman
Elani Randall scored her career best of eight points and led the Cougars with five rebounds. Throughout the game, 13 Chicago State Cougars saw the court on the afternoon, with 10 of them scoring. Some of which included
Kyara Champagne,
Chloe Sisco, and
Kitali Youmans. Youmans also had a team high three assists. The Cougars shot 40.4% from the field and were also 30.8% from three point range. Chicago State had 30 points of their 58 from the paint and had seven points off turnovers.

Chicago State will return to the court on Wednesday November 12 as they travel southwest to Normal, Illinois to battle the Illinois State University with tip-off scheduled for 11:00 a.m. (CT).
