Taleah Washington led the charge for Wagner with an impressive 28-point performance, highlighted by clutch shooting and a perfect 10-for-14 effort from the free-throw line. Julia Fabozzi added 17 points, and Angelie Ricard posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds to dominate the interior. Wagner capitalized on their efficiency at the charity stripe, shooting 78.6% from the line to help maintain their lead.
Chicago State showed resilience throughout the game, led by Josie Hill, who scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds. Aiyanna Culver contributed 13 points, including a couple of key three-pointers in the first half that helped Chicago State close the gap. Despite a strong second quarter, where they outscored Wagner 22-16, Chicago State struggled with turnovers, committing 15, which Wagner converted into 21 points.
Wagner's consistent offensive execution in the second half proved too much for Chicago State. They shot over 50% in both the third and fourth quarters, with Washington and Ricard delivering key baskets to fend off a late push from the home team. With the win, Wagner improves to 4-9 overall, while Chicago State continues to seek their first win of the season and will face LIU in it's next contest.
