Box Score CHICAGO — The No. 20 DePaul women's basketball team used a balanced attack to take down Chicago State, 128-66, Monday afternoon at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Seven DePaul players scored in the first 10 minutes and a 21-1 run left the Cougars playing catch-up early.
DePaul pressure led to 19 first-half Cougars turnovers, which the Blue Demons converted into 38 points. In addition, DePaul connected on 12-of-19 three-point attempts in the first 20 minutes to go into the locker room with the Cougars trailing 67-32 at the half.
Junior
Nadia Thorman-McKey (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) was the Cougars leading scorer for the second time in as many games, scoring 18 points against DePaul after pacing Chicago State with 19 against Loyola in the season opener. Thorman-McKey converted 8-of-15 field goal attempts and contributed with six rebounds.
Ana Haklicka (Dubrovnik, Croatia/Touristic and Catering School ) added 13 points and
Laura Segues (Castelloli, Spain) 10, connecting on three-of-six three point attempts.
Nine DePaul players scored, including five in double figures. Kendall Holmes poured in 23 points, while Lexi Held and Sonya Morris each tacked on 21.
The Cougars will be back in action Wednesday, Dec. 2, taking on the UIC Flames at Credit Union 1 Arena at 7:30 p.m.
