CHICAGO –
Kourtney Crane (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and
Bethany Carstens (Kenai, Alaska/Nikiski) finished in double-figures for Chicago State women's basketball as the Cougars suffered a 98-53 decision to in-city foe, Loyola, Nov. 19 inside the Jones Convocation Center.
Crane led all scorers with 16 points, while Carsten connected on two-for-three from downtown, adding 12 total.
CSU
- Crane also dished a team-best five assists on the night.
- Cougar rookie, Carsten, added two assists, one block, and one steal.
- On the boards, Inez Mata Boix lead CSU with five rebounds.
- The Cougars tied Loyola in the fourth quarter, each finishing with 20 points in the final ten minutes.
Loyola
- Five Ramblers finished in double-figures: Allison Day (16), Anna Brown (16), Alexis Meyer (14), Sam Galanopoulos (13), and Abby O'Connor (12).
- Meyer's earned a double-double for Loyola adding 10 boards to her 14 points.
- Brown connected on all four of her shots from downtown and four of her five three throws.
- Galanopoulos dished a game-best eight assists and added eight rebounds to her 13 points.
