Cougars Close Road Swing at UTRGV as Cliff Scores New Career High

EDINBURG, Texas – The Chicago State women's basketball team received a career-high 15 points from sophomore Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli) as it concluded its three-game Western Athletic Conference road swing tonight with an 81-44 defeat to host UT Rio Grande Valley at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
 
Cliff connected on 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free throw line in 36 minutes of play for CSU. Redshirt senior Phylicia Johnson (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington Central) added 10 points, tied a career high by grabbing six rebounds and dished out four assists.
 
The Vaqueros had four players score in double figures with Megan Johnson leading the way with 12 points.
 
CSU returns to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center for a couple of WAC games next week that begins on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
