Women’s Basketball Begin Four-Game Road Swing at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – Chicago State women's basketball saw its four-game road swing begin here this evening against host Ball State with the Cardinals posting an 88-53 victory at Worthen Arena.
 
The Cougars (0-7) received double digit scoring efforts from three players with sophomore Tiana Thomas (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) leading the team with a new career scoring high at 15 points on 6-of-9 field-goal shooting that included hitting 3-of-4 from downtown. She added four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes of play off the bench.

Redshirt junior Jessica Cerda (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) recorded a season-best 13 points, while sophomore Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) tallied 10 points and grabbed a team-leading five rebounds. Fellow sophomore Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne) produced three steals and a game-high two blocked shots.
 
Destiny Washington recorded game high totals of 18 points, 12 rebounds and four steals to lead BSU (4-2), who had six players score in double figures.

CSU continues its road swing on Sunday afternoon against Northwestern in Evanston with a start time of 1 p.m.
