OPENING TIP – Chicago State women's basketball opens the month of December and a four-game road swing on Thursday night in Muncie, Ind., as it takes on host Ball State at Worthen Arena in an ESPN3 live broadcast with a start time of 6 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – The Green and White enter Thursday's contest with a record of 0-6 on the season following Tuesday's 80-60 defeat to Oakland at the Jones Convocation Center despite having three players score in double figures. Sophomore forward/center Sh'Toya Sanders (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne) paces CSU with 17.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.5 blocked shots and 1.8 steals per game to go along with four double-doubles on the year so far. Sophomore guard/forward Kaylee Allen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) ranks second on the team with 14.3 points a game while posting a team-best 3.2 assists a game and is tied for first in steals at 1.8 thefts per contest.

SCOUTING BSU – Playing its first game in over a week, Ball State has amassed a 3-2 season record after finishing with a 1-2 mark at the Savannah Invitational with a 76-57 win over North Carolina A&T and losses to Auburn (40-54) and East Carolina (69-82). Junior forward Moriah Monaco is one of three Cardinals averaging double figures scoring as she's averaging a team-leading 17.6 points a game, while senior center Renee Bennett is grabbing a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game and averaging 14 points a game. Senior guard Jill Morrison has posted an average of 11.7 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY – Thursday's showdown will mark the first meeting between Chicago State and Ball State in over 13 years as the Cardinals hold a commanding 12-0 lead. BSU captured an 83-74 win over the Cougars in the teams' last meeting on Dec. 27, 2003 in Chicago during Angela Jackson's first season as CSU's head coach.

UP NEXT – CSU returns to action on Sunday afternoon with a trip to Evanston, Ill., to battle Big Ten Conference foe Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena beginning at 1 p.m.
