Box Score Chicago State University (3-15; 1-4 WAC) earned their first conference win of the season over Utah Valley University (7-13; 1-4 WAC), Thursday night at the Jones Convocation Center.
The Cougars started strong and jumped out to an early lead. They were up by nine points leading 21-12 with 8:05 left to play in the first half. The Wolverines responded well the remaining eight minutes as they took a one point lead at half, 27-26.
In the second half, the Cougars regained control with a three pointer from
Konner Harris (Sidney, Ohio/Sidney) as they took a one point lead, 47-46, with six minutes remaining. Another three from Harris extended the Chicago State lead to 50-46. Harris was 100% from the three-point line, as she put on a clutch performance in the final minutes of play.
Paris Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonville) scored a season high 28 points including 8 rebounds to lead Chicago State to the victory
CSU remains at home against Grand Canyon University as they look for another conference win on Saturday Jan. 31 at 2 p.m CT.
