Western Michigan Upends Chicago State Women's Hoops

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Sophomore Tierra Williams (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) (Detroit, Mich./Lathrup) earned her fourth-straight contest of double-digit points as she scored 14 in Chicago State's 80-38 loss at Western Michigan on Saturday (Dec. 8) afternoon.
 
Senior Jazzmyn Harvey (Chicago, Ill./Bellwood) (Chicago, Ill  Bellwood/Western Michigan), playing at the school where she started her collegiate career, added nine points. Sophomore Jackie Jones (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King) and freshman Nia-Tayler Clark (Bowie, Md./Bowie) (Bowie, Md./Bowie) led the Cougars with five rebounds each.  
 
The Cougars were hurt by the Broncos' 14-0 edge in fast break points. Western Michigan shot 44.1 percent (30-of-68) while Chicago State finished 13-of-51 from the floor.
 
Western Michigan improves to 3-6 with the victory while Chicago State falls to 1-7. The Cougars conclude a stretch of four consecutive games away from the Jones Convocation Center on Thursday (Dec. 13) when they travel to Rice. Tipoff in Houston, Texas is set for 7 p.m.
