CHICAGO – Chicago State University women's golf opened its home schedule on Sept. 18 with a 321-331 victory over rival Loyola in the Chi-Town Showdown dual match, held at Lost Marsh Golf Course in Hammond, Ind.
Junior Brianna Hickman (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson) (Tucson, Ariz.) captured medalist honors for CSU after shooting a 77 in the match that included posting a 38 on the front nine and also recorded 14 pars on the 18-hole course.
Sophomore Diana Flores (Torreon, Coah, Mexico/Instituto Alpes) (Torreon, Coah, Mexico) finished in third place with a score of 79, while shooting a 38 on the front nine to go along with 10 pars and a birdie on the day. Placing fourth was redshirt senior Esther Lee (Irvine, CA/Santiago Canyon College) (Irvine, Calif.) after she posted nine pars and a birdie en route to carding an 81, and sophomore Andrea Rosado (Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico/American Heritage School) (Ponce, P.R.) shot an 84 (41-43) to finish sixth.
Junior Brittany Johnson (Golden, Colo./Golden) (Golden, Colo.) placed in a tie for seventh with Loyola's Ashley Garrison after recording a score of 85 to round out the scoring for the Cougars. Freshman Jessica Peatross (Lansing, Mich./Holt) (Lansing, Mich.) tied with the Ramblers' Rachel Meyer for 10th place as an individual with a score of 88.
Loyola was paced by Ann Vrdolyak, who posted a 78 (38-40) to finish one stroke behind Hickman to finish second.
