Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Green Bay Fall Classic

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's golf opened its 2010-11 season in the Green Bay Fall Classic on Tuesday afternoon, held at the Green Bay Golf Course in Green Bay, Wis.

 

CSU produced a fifth-place finish with a two-round score of 677 in addition to finishing ahead of three teams in Lewis, fellow Great West Conference member South Dakota, and IPFW.

 

In her first competition for the Cougars, junior Brianna Hickman (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson) (Tucson, Ariz.) placed sixth in the tournament after carding a 160 and recorded a 78 in the final round of competition.

 

Sophomore Andrea Rosado (Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico/American Heritage School) (Ponce, P.R.) finished 15th after posting a score of 168, while redshirt senior Esther Lee (Irvine, CA/Santiago Canyon College) (Irvine, Calif.) recorded a score of 175 to finish in a tie for 27th place, and sophomore Diana Flores (Torreon, Coah, Mexico/Instituto Alpes) (Torreon, Coah, Mexico) tied for 29th place after tallying a score of 178.

 

Freshman Jessica Peatross (Lansing, Mich./Holt) (Holt, Mich.) tied for 32nd place as an individual after producing a score of 179 in her first-ever collegiate meet and junior Brittany Johnson (Golden, Colo./Golden) (Golden, Colo.) finished 36th with a score of 181.

 

Loyola carded a score of 636 to win the team title and Valparaiso's Annie Nolan shot a 157, including a 78 in the first round, to garner medalist honors.

 

The Cougars welcome Loyola to the Lost Marsh Golf Course in Hammond, Ind., this Saturday to compete in the annual Chi-Town Showdown dual match.
