Lee Helps CSU Women Finish Eighth at Butler Fall Invite

Esther Lee posted her second straight top-10 finish at the Butler Fall Invitational by finishing in a tie for seventh after carding a score of 152

CHICAGO – Redshirt senior Esther Lee (Irvine, CA/Santiago Canyon College) (Irvine, Calif.) produced her second consecutive top-10 finish of the week in helping the Chicago State women's golf team garner an eighth-place finish today at the Butler Fall Invitational, held at the Eagle Creek Golf Course in Indianapolis.

 

As a team, the Cougars recorded a two-round score of 633 and posted a 315 in the first round. The Green and White finished ahead of six teams in the tournament, including fellow Division I schools Loyola, Indiana State, Valparaiso and Cleveland State.

 

Lee shot a career-low 74 in the first round and finished the tournament with a 78 for a combined score of 152 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place. She also went two-under-par on Par 5 scoring and had 23 pars over both rounds.

 

Sophomore Diana Flores (Torreon, Coah, Mexico/Instituto Alpes) (Torreon, Coah, Mexico) finished in a three-way tie for 10th place after carding a 153 that included posting a career-low 74 in the final round. Flores played well in the tournament in which she produced an eagle, five birdies and shot one-under-par on Par 3 scoring.

 

Finishing in a tie for 40th place was sophomore Andrea Rosado (Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico/American Heritage School) (Ponce, P.R.) who recorded back-to-back rounds of 81 to finish with a 162, junior Brianna Hickman (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson) (Tempe, Ariz.) shot a 166 (81-85) to tie for 53 rd place, and junior Brittany Johnson (Golden, Colo./Golden) (Golden, Colo.) closed out the scoring by shooting a 169 (82-87) to place in a tie for 63rd place.

 

Freshman Jessica Peatross (Lansing, Mich./Holt) (Lansing, Mich.) finished in a tie for 57th place as an individual when she carded a two-day score of 167 (82-85).

 

Bradley carded a score of 602 to capture the team title and was led by medalist Kelly Amundrud, who recorded a score of 143 that included shooting a 70 in the final round.

The Cougars head to DeKalb, Ill., to compete in the NIU Fall Classic on Oct. 10-11.
