FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Jan. 20, 2010) – Chicago State women's basketball team stepped out of Great West Conference play here tonight against host IPFW at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center, but three players scored in double figures for the Mastodons in a 63-50 victory. The Cougars dropped to 7-13 on the year, while IPFW evened its season record at 9-9.
Junior Courtney Waldon (Sun Prairie, WI/Sun Prairie) (Sun Prairie, Wis.) led CSU with 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while sophomore Janay Dockery (Detroit, MI/Martin Luther King) (Detroit, Mich.) added 11 points to go along with a game-high four steals. As a team, the Cougars connected on 14-of-15 from the free throw line for the game.
IPFW was led by sophomore Stephanie Rosado's game-high 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field. Fellow classmate Anne Boese scored 18 points and junior Jordan Zuppe contributed 11 points in addition to dishing out a game-high eight assists for the Mastodons.
Chicago State closes a five-game road trip this Saturday on the East Coast as it travels to NJIT for a Great West Conference contest in Newark, N.J. The opening tip is scheduled to start at 2 p.m., Eastern Time.
