Volleyball Adds Lourdes Transfer Gabby Pearl to 2018 Roster

Gabby Pearl will join the CSU volleyball team for the upcoming 2018 season
CHICAGO – Chicago State University volleyball head coach Brandon Reeves has announced the addition of Gabby Pearl (Farmer City, IL/Blue Ridge) to his team's 2018 roster. She will have only one season of eligibility beginning this fall while joining fellow newcomers Autumn DeSantis, Nicole Luckey, Kayla Malec and Beatriz Palmieri.

Pearl, a six-foot-two opposite hitter, came to CSU in this past spring semester after transferring from Lourdes University, an NAIA Division II institution out of Sylvania, Ohio. She competed for the Gray Wolves in 2017 where she produced 15 kills, eight digs and five blocks over 16 matches played.

Before competing at Lourdes, Pearl averaged 1.66 kills and posted 36 blocks while hitting .387 in her sophomore season at Parkland College in downstate Champaign in 2016. She helped the Cobras capture their second consecutive National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II national championship that season.

"I am very ecstatic to have Gabby come to our program this season as she comes in with some success on the court and in the classroom," stated Reeves. "We are looking forward to her helping us contend in the Western Athletic Conference."

Pearl was a two-time Second Team All-Heart of Illinois Conference selection and twice claimed second team all-area accolades while competing at Burr Ridge (Ill.) High School.
