Cougars End WAC Weekend Homestand against Utah Valley

CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's basketball team saw its weekend Western Athletic Conference homestand this afternoon with a 68-30 defeat to Utah Valley at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center.
 
CSU was paced in the contest by senior Destiny Harris (Crete, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) and redshirt sophomore Ines Mata Boix (Madrid, Spain).
 
Harris grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds, while Mata Boix finished with eight points and a game-high five blocked shots.
 
Sophomore Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli) also scored eight points and contributed two blocks for the Green and White, who produced a 9-4 advantage in blocked in the game.
 
Mariah Seals recorded game highs of 13 points and five assists to lead Utah Valley.
 
The Cougars open a three-game WAC road swing on Thursday, Jan. 18 against Grand Canyon at the GCU Arena in Phoenix with a start time of 8 p.m.
