This Week: The Chicago State women's soccer team concludes its home schedule at the Ray and Joan Kroc Stadium this week by ending a three-game homestand with a couple of Western Athletic Conference games. CSU kicks off its slate on Friday afternoon versus CSU Bakersfield with a kickoff time of 3 p.m. and then welcomes Grand Canyon to the Kroc on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Cougars: The Green and White bring a 1-11 season record with a 0-2 record in WAC play heading into the final homestand of the season. The Cougars dropped their first two conference contests last weekend with a close 2-1 defeat at New Mexico State followed by a 5-1 home loss to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Freshman midfielder Mariela Alba (Hanover Park, Ill./Bartlett) leads CSU in scoring with seven points and three goals on the year, while sophomore midfielder Amber Jones (St. Louis, Mo./Mary Institute Country Day) and freshman midfielder Taylor Rankin (Dearborn, Mich./Ford) are tied for second on the team with two goals apiece. Sophomore midfielder Alejandra Alonso (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) and freshman forward Madison Berg (Coatesville, ind./Cascade) are tied for the team lead in assists with two. Junior goalkeeper Gabby Klemp (Muskegon, Mich./Reeths-Puffer) has produced a team-best .636 save percentage and sophomore goalkeeper Audra Wisehart (Sandusky, Ohio/Huron) is the team leader in saves with 56.

Scouting the Roadrunners: CSU Bakersfield comes into Friday's battle sporting a season record of 5-8-1 that includes a 1-1 mark in conference play. CSUB earned a split in its conference-opening double dip last weekend with a 1-0 victory at Utah Valley, but saw its two-game winning streak broken at the hands of Seattle U two days later via a 3-2 overtime defeat at home. Sophomore midfielder Sabrina Delgado has recorded team highs of 14 points and six goals to lead the Roadrunners. Redshirt sophomore forward Aminah Settles leads the team with four assists, while sophomore goalkeeper Jen Padilla has tallied a 5-5-1 season record with 60 saves, a 1.80 goal-against-average and three shutouts.

Scouting the Lopes: Grand Canyon enters the week with a 5-8 record on the season while holding a 1-1 record against WAC opponents. After opening WAC play with a 1-0 loss at Seattle last Friday, the Lopes then broke their two-game losing streak Sunday with a 2-1 double-overtime victory at home against Utah Valley. Junior forward Milla Benedetti leads GCU with 11 points and five goals, while sophomore forward McKenzie Cook is tied with Benedetti for the teams' assist lead with three. Junior goalkeeper Blakely Fraasch has produced a team-leading 32 saves and a 1.49 goals against average with two shutout wins.

Showing Support: In a show of support for breast cancer awareness month, the Cougars will wear pink uniforms during their home games for the month of October.

Up Next: CSU begins a three-match road swing next week out west with pair of WAC games against Utah Valley on Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m., MT then head to Seattle U for a Saturday evening showdown with a start time of 7 p.m., Pacific Time.
