Box Score CHICAGO, IL- Chicago State beat University of Albany 7 to 2 in the third game of the series to win the home opener series.

Dane Mehring (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier), going for the complete game, including seven hits, two runs, one walk, and nine strikeouts on the day. There was couple of events in the game were it was looking bad for the Cougars but with the great pitching and defensive plays, the Cougars stopped the Danes getting on the board.
All of the Cougars hitters were on the mark today, recording 11 hits, and couple of steals. The Cougars broke the game open in the fourth inning, when they rallied to scored four of the seven runs and did not look back there as they scored in all the innings minus the fifth to finish the game.,
Robert Swenson (Mason City, Iowa/Mason City) went 2 for 3, with one run and drove in two RBIs for the Cougars.
The Cougars are back in action, Tuesday, March 17 vs Northern Illinois at 3pm at Cougar Stadium.
