CHICAGO – Chicago State University has entered four runners in the 2013 NCAA Midwest Regionals.
On the men's side, juniors
DeShaunte Lewis (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly) and
David Prchal (Omaha, Neb./Millard South) will compete in the event. Junior
Oslyn Melissa Collins (Diamond New Scheme End, Guyana/Covent Garden) and sophomore
Jusilya Scott (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood) will run for the women. It will be the first time in Chicago State history that women's cross country will be represented in the regional championships.
"I'm excited for the program and I'm excited for our four student-athletes," Chicago State head cross country coach
Steve Powenski said. "It's an important step for the team and is a sign of our direction as a program."
Both regional races will be held in Ames, Iowa on Nov. 15 at noon CT.
