SOMERS, Wis. – Chicago State men's cross country finished in 17
th place at the UW-Parkside Rosa Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 12). The Cougars compiled a score of 526 on the 8K course.
The Cougars' best performance of the day was junior
DeShaunte Lewis (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly). He finished in 71
st with a time of 26:45.8.
"DeShaunte continues to improve," Chicago State cross country head coach
Steve Powenski said. "He ran 50 seconds better than he did a month ago on the same course."
Junior
David Prchal (Omaha, Neb./Millard South) totaled a time of 30:28.9 with a finish of 217. Freshman
Charles Blackhawk (Gary, Ind./Westside) (33:08.3), freshman
Tyler Whittler (University Park, Ill./Crete-Monee High School) (33.52.0), freshman
Khalil Tookes (Ambridge, Pa./Ambridge Area ) (34.01.4) and freshman
Gabriel Martell (El Paso, Texas /Austin) (35.30.9) followed.
Chicago State is back on the course on Oct. 19 at South Dakota's Tim young Invite.
