CHICAGO – Chicago State women's track & field team continued their preparation for the upcoming Great West Conference Outdoor Championships on April 30 at the Stan Lyons Invitational, hosted by Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind. The Cougars received two top-10 finishes at the meet.
Sophomore Sharifah Robertson (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) ran for a time of 12.52 in the 100-meter dash to capture fifth place in the event.
Robertson later joined fellow sophomore Mowaninuoluwa Idowu (McDonough, GA/Ola) (McDonough, Ga.), and juniors Neshia Robertson (South Holland, IL/Thornwood) (South Holland, Ill.) and Jasmine Walker (Capitol Heights, MD/Essex CC) (Capitol Heights, Md.) to finish in a tie for fifth place in the 4x100-meter relay after tallying a season-best time of 49.04.
The Cougars head to Madison, Wis., this Saturday to compete in their final non-championship meet of the season at Wisconsin Twilight Invitational.
