Baseball Kicks Off Great West Tournament Play Today

EDINBURG, Texas - The Chicago State baseball team kicks off the first day of the 2010 Great West Conference Tournament action this morning at the Edinburg Baseball Stadium and hosted by the University of Texas-Pan American.
The Cougars is seeded eighth in the tournament and will compete in Pool 1. In addition to CSU, competing in Pool 1 is regular season champion and top-seeded Utah Valley, fourth-seeded Houston Baptist and fifth-seeded North Dakota. The Pool 2 competitiors are second seed Northern Colorado, third seed NYIT, sixth seed UTPA and seventh seed
The Green and White opens pool play this afternoon at 12:30 p.m. against UVU before battling HBU on Thursday at 9 a.m. The Cougars face North Dakota in their final pool play contest Friday morning at 9 a.m.
The championship game will be this Saturday with the champions from both pools facing each other beginning at 5 p.m.
