CSU Athletics Positions Itself For Enhanced Success

CHICAGO, Ill. – After two years at the helm of the Chicago State University (CSU) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the University announced its decision not to retain Wayne Baskerville as Athletic Director. The announcement was made today by the Interim Vice-President for Enrollment Management and Administrative Services, Dr. Beverly M. John.
Baskerville joined the Chicago State athletics program in August of 2006 from the Big-Ten Conference office, where he was an associate commissioner.
The University is positioning itself for entry into a conference, building on its competitive edge and ensuring the very best program for our student-athletes. “Chicago State University will launch a nationwide search for a new athletic director that will facilitate a student-focused, NCAA –driven, cadre of professionals committed to the athletic and academic success of CSU students.” said John.
Chicago State University competes at the NCAA Division I AAA level and sponsors 14 sports.
