MAC Announces Men’s Tennis All-Conference Awards

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced today the 2008 Men’s All-Conference selections as well as the player of the year, coach of the year, newcomer of the year and sportsmanship award. The All-Conference selections were selected by the league head coaches.
Chicago State’s Prakoso Imanuel, who finished the season with a 9-13 record in No. 1 singles action earned second team honors. Imanuel helped lead the Cougars to a 4-12 record in their first year as member of the Mid-American Conference. CSU entered the MAC tournament as the 5th seed before falling in the first round to Northern Illinois.
Brian Livingston of Northern Illinois was named Men’s Tennis Player of the Year. Ball State’s Eduardo Pavia earned Newcomer of the Year honors, while Western Michigan’s Dave Morin garnered Coach of the Year Honors.
The league’s coaches voted Alex Friesen of Northern Illinois as the recipient of the Jack Vredevelt Sportsmanship Award.
