CHICAGO – Chicago State University women's golf fared well in its final tournament of the regular season after producing an eighth-place finish at the Bowling Green Delores Black Falcon Invitational on April 14-15 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The Cougars tallied a two-round score of 663 in the 12-team tournament while finishing ahead of four teams (Dayton, Cleveland State, IPFW and Niagara). The University of Indianapolis won the team title after recording a score of 626, led by medalist Darin Pinnick's tally of 148 with a 70 in the final round of play.
Junior Andrea Rosado (Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico/American Heritage School) (Plantation, Fla.) led the Green and White by placing in a tie for seventh after carding a 159 for the tournament which included shooting a 77 in the final round. She posted a 3.13 score on Par 3 scoring holes and knocked down 20 par putts for the weekend.
After shooting a 77 in the first round, sophomore Brooke Melvin (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) (Temecula, Calif.) concluded play in 12th place after posting a score of 159, while junior Vivian Garciaferro (Puebla, Mexico/Puebla) (Puebla, Mexico) placed 46th as an individual with a score of 170.
Also competing in the meet for CSU were seniors Brianna Hickman (Tucson, Ariz./Tucson) (Tucson, Ariz.) and Brittany Johnson (Golden, Colo./Golden) (Golden, Colo.), and sophomore Jessica Peatross (Lansing, Mich./Holt) (Lansing, Mich.).
The Cougars travel to Orem, Utah on April 23-25 to compete in the fourth-annual Great West Conference Championship.
